ClearForest Corp., a leader in transforming massive amounts of unstructured data into actionable insights, announced the availability of ClearForest Release 5. The latest version of the content extraction and analysis suite extends the functionality of the company's unstructured data management applications with powerful new relationship analysis tools, industry-specific solution modules and enhanced database scalability.
"ClearForest tools have always been a unique blend of complex information technologies with a usable, visual interface," said Sue Feldman, Content Technologies Research VP, IDC. "Because the visual interface is easily understood, users can forage for information, turn up unexpected patterns, or discover relationships that they had no inkling existed. The visual aspect allows them to understand vast amounts of data. With information workers swamped with information today, this kind of application provides a welcome relief."
Link Analysis enables users to find important, previously unknown implicit information within an organization's unstructured data sources. The Link Analysis query automatically organizes links (associations) between entities (individuals, organizations) that are not present in individual documents. The results of a link analysis query give new insight into an organization's data by interpreting the relevant interconnections between disparate bits of information. For example, Intelligence analysts can explore associations among terrorists and identify key members and weak links for law enforcement resources to target.
Another new feature of this release is the Fact Viewer that allows for the search and retrieval of events and relationships without the constraint of explicit keywords. A financial analyst could ask for a list of "all biotech companies that merged or were acquired in the past 6 months," even though the words "merged," "acquired" or "acquisition" might not appear in the source text. This type of query would be impossible to achieve with traditional search technology.
ClearForest is also delivering four new Discovery Modules providing cost- saving, out-of-the-box text patterns and relationships for Life Sciences, Counter-Intelligence, Intellectual Property and Financial Services applications. These Discovery Modules are designed to provide faster return on investment (ROI) with rapid implementations using packaged applications, modular deployments, and plug-in integrations.
The unique domain expertise incorporated into these Discovery Modules guides the automatic tagging and discovery of the most relevant textual elements to each specific domain or industry. In addition, users and organizations can leverage their own unique expertise by easily extending Discovery Modules for enhanced, focused and unparalleled tagging.
Using advanced performance boosting software techniques, ClearForest has met the demand for leveraging standard database platforms and the demand for scalability to incorporate millions of documents. ClearForest's Tagging platform is designed to support an enterprise with extremely large text collections and mission critical performance requirements.
ClearForest has also extended the platform internationalization with the ability to tag and analyze Arabic and Hebrew in addition to primary Western European languages.
Built upon the award winning ClearTags Intelligent-Tagging platform, ClearForest's applications automatically structure the unstructured and deliver highly visual, interactive summaries providing users with previously unknown insights into mission critical intelligence. ClearForest's customers continue to realize measurable benefits of using ClearForest for the full and automated exploitation of the value hidden in their content assets.
