(Bloomberg News) -- Cisco Systems Inc.’s incoming Chief Executive Officer Chuck Robbins unveiled his management team, including replacements for Chief Technology Officer Padmasree Warrior and Edzard Overbeek, senior vice president of services.
Overbeek was one of the top candidates to replace John Chambers, who will step down when Robbins is formally appointed CEO on July 26. News of Overbeek’s departure comes three days after the company announced that co-presidents Robert Lloyd and Gary Moore would be leaving.
The new team will have 10 members, down from 12 under Chambers, and half will be female, the San Jose, California-based company said in a statement Thursday. Chief Information Officer Rebecca Jacoby will become senior vice president of operations. Karen Walker, who has been with Cisco since 2009, was promoted to chief marketing officer, replacing Blair Christie. Ruba Borno, from Boston Consulting Group, will take on a new position as chief of staff.
Joe Cozzolino will take over Overbeek’s responsibilities, while Cisco’s mergers and acquisitions chief Hilton Romanski will replace Warrior as chief technology and strategy officer. Wim Elfrink, another long-time top executive who has been chief globalization officer since 2006, will retire.
