For the production of the new four-door Panamera and the Cayenne sports utility vehicle, Porsche developed a new logistic concept at its plant in Leipzig, Germany.
Via exactly planned procedures incorporating all suppliers, parts are delivered just one hour before they are further processed on the production line, virtually eliminating the need for expensive storage areas. SAP software forms the central system that controls the entire supply chain, from commissioning and ordering parts to warehouse management.

Cathay Pacific Airways Selects JDA Software
Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd is implementing JDA Cargo Revenue Optimizer to help improve profitability in the airline’s cargo operation.
Over the course of a three-phased rollout, the solution will enable the Hong Kong-based airline to determine the most cost-effective cargo capacity and rates for each flight or route using historical data and complex optimization algorithms.

Land O’Lakes, Inc. partnered with Deloitte to implement Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne in support of its Dairy Foods businesses and corporate financial function.
The scope of the effort included financial management, procurement, production and deployment planning, order management, manufacturing, warehouse management, quality management and plant maintenance.
“After multiple acquisitions, the Land O’Lakes Dairy Foods business found itself with disparate legacy systems and groups within the division were operating independently,” said Mark Thome, vice president of business transformation and enterprise resource planning. “Because of the complexity inherent in a single business unit that contains separate consumer retail, foodservice and industrial businesses, we knew migrating to a single unified ERP solution would be a major undertaking.”
Cancer Treatment Centers of America Goes Live with Lawson
Cancer Treatment Centers of America recently completed its implementation of multiple enterprise software suites from Lawson Software.
The CTCA project involved implementation of Lawson Enterprise Financial Management and Supply Chain Management suites as well as Lawson Business Intelligence. CTCA led the implementation, working closely with consultants from Lawson Professional Services.
