Houston Police Select Information Builders’ BI Technology

 

The City of Houston Police Department launched its new Crime Center and Law Enforcement Application to help predict crime activities and provide information to officers responding to calls. Information Builders provided the technology behind the new application.

 

The Crime Center’s team uses WebFOCUS, integration technology from iWay Software and a dynamic geographic information system mapping tool from ESRIto enable predictive analysis of crime activity in the city.

 

"Thanks to business intelligence technology from Information Builders, our officers now have much more knowledge about a particular crime or incident than they ever had before," said Houston police chief Harold Hurtt. "It is our hope that this technology will lead to quicker arrests and speed the time and improve the efficacy of criminal investigations."

 

Torchmark Corporation Selects Lawson to Support Growth

 

Torchmark Corporation licensed Lawson Software’s Lawson S3 Human Capital Management, Enterprise Financial Management and Enterprise Performance Management Suites in addition to the Lawson System Foundation 9 technology platform to support its long-term growth.

 

Torchmark Corporation is a holding company specializing in life and supplemental health insurance. It will use Lawson S3 Human Capital Management to help reduce the time employees spend on repetitive tasks, such as check processing and benefit administration.

 

“Lawson Strategic Ledger module will allow us to store insurance policy data from all of our subsidiaries in one system. This will give our actuaries more time to conduct trend analysis by eliminating the need to manually reconcile information across multiple policy databases and shorten the month-end financial close cycle by one day,” said Danny Almond, chief accounting officer, Torchmark Corporation.

 

Pernod Ricard Standardizes Worldwide On Informatica

 

Pernod Ricard is standardizing its data integration and consolidation on the Informatica platform across all subsidiaries.

 

Informatica was chosen to enhance tactical dash boarding and business visibility as part of Pernod Ricard's business intelligence standardization initiative.

Lincoln Financial Distributors, Inc., the wholesale distribution and marketing arm of Lincoln Financial Group, selected Predictive Analytics software from SPSS Inc. to gain a deeper understanding of its financial intermediary customer base and use that knowledge to develop more effective sales and marketing campaigns.

 

Lincoln Financial Distributors selected SPSS Predictive Analytics to segment and understand its customer base, and to implement actions that can help to increase retention. Using SPSS’ software and careful analysis, the organization will be able to reach out to customers to strengthen relationships and create long-term loyalty.

Radian Guaranty Selects Xactly

 

Radian Guaranty, the mortgage-insurance subsidiary of Radian Group Inc. selected the Xactly Incent Managed Service for sales compensation management.

 

With Xactly Incent Managed Service, Radian gains an outsourced, on-demand service for managing incentive compensation that will replace its earlier spreadsheet-based processes.
