Havas Digital Supercharges Artemis with Greenplum
Havas Digital, an interactive network of global advertising and communications services group Havas Media, is utilizing the Greenplum Database and Enterprise Data Cloud solutions to supercharge its Artemis marketing decision support system.
“Greenplum is enabling us to take Artemis to the next level. Greenplum’s solutions allow us to leverage an unlimited number of data sources to provide advanced automated decision making and reporting for our customers,” said Katrin Ribant, director of Artemis at Havas Digital. “In addition, the Greenplum Enterprise Data Cloud platform will enable us to easily and conveniently host strategic data assets that are used in digital marketing campaign management.”
Tennessee Valley Authority Goes Live With IBM
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the United States’ largest public power company, initiated fleet-wide use of IBM software solutions to help it achieve asset-management improvements across all its power facilities, including fossil, hydro, nuclear, wind along with supporting business units such as power systems operations, facilities and the Customer Support & Repair Organization.

United Supermarkets Chooses Teradata for Enterprise Intelligence
United Supermarkets, a Texas-based regional retail grocery chain with stores in 50 locations, has selected Teradata to meet its growing and comprehensive enterprise information requirements.
The retailer is deploying a multiple-terabyte Data Warehouse Appliance from Teradata with the Retail Decisions Enterprise Suite, the Retail Logical Data Model, and Teradata Professional Services.

The Prince George's County Police Department (PGPD) in Maryland is in the initial stages of implementing WebFOCUS RStat, which can help PGPD predict when crime will occur and project crime trends.
The addition of Information Builders' WebFOCUS RStat allows commanders and investigators to perform predictive analysis of nuisance areas, serial crimes and key events, to project crime patterns and pinpoint the date, time and location of likely incidents. The technology helps the department further reduce crime by anticipating it and assigning resources to prevent criminal incidents.

Clinton Foundation deploys SAS in Global HIV/AIDS Fight
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) selected SAS for technology to support good decisions and good investments as it battles the spread of HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis and other severe health threats.
More than 90 percent of the 33 million people with HIV/AIDS live in economically depressed, developing nations. CHAI, founded by President William J. Clinton in 2002, sought to negotiate lower drug prices, raise funds for treatment and work with governments in those countries.
“Without true cost and impact information, people don’t always make optimal decisions,’’ said Megan O’Brien, PhD, research director for CHAI’s Center for Strategic HIV Operations Research. “Decision making improves when donors, governments and medical providers understand best- and worst-case scenarios, and trade-offs along the way.”
Queensland Motorways Gets on the Road With SAP Software
Queensland Motorways, an operator of toll roads and bridge infrastructure in Australia, has successfully accomplished the implementation of an intelligent tolling system in Brisbane, Australia.
The new system, in which SAP solutions play a pivotal role, was designed to reduce travel times, decrease traffic congestions and improve safety for motorists. Seven months after the completion of the free-flow tolling project, there has been a noticeable improvement in congestion and safety as motorists no longer need to slow, merge or stop at toll points to pay their toll.
Cook Children's Health Care System Selects Multiple Lawson Enterprise Solutions
Cook Children's Health Care System signed a contract with Lawson Software. Under the contract, Lawson will provide multiple enterprise solutions including Lawson Human Resource Management, Supply Chain Management, Mobile Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management applications.
Cook Children's Health Care System is based in Fort Worth, Texas. The organization has expanded in size and scope, particularly over the last decade when it has added more than $100 million in new facilities to better serve children in North Texas. With the addition of facilities and lines of care, the organization needed a business system that would help it manage supplies, contracts and staff.

On-demand marketing infrastructure provider Entiera has slashed the time it takes customers to create, execute and analyze marketing campaigns from hours to minutes using the Vertica Analytic Database.
As the campaigns and analysis clients were doing became more complex, Entiera sought out Vertica to meet that growing demand. In the process, the company initiated a major performance upgrade, according to Entiera chairman Jeff Wilkins.
“We took the opportunity to both enhance the data schema and incorporate alternative database technologies that could give our customers better performance and the ability to scale to infinitely larger data volumes,” Wilkins said.
