Cartesis, a world-leading specialist in finance and performance management software, announced that Eduardo Sergio Sanchez has joined the company, serving as chief operating officer. In this role, Sanchez will be responsible for driving all revenue-generating activity through the management, development and coordination of worldwide sales, partners, consulting, education and customer support solutions.

"As evident in our 28 percent increase worldwide and 57 percent jump in North American software revenue in FY06, Cartesis is growing at a staggering rate," said Didier Benchimol, CEO of Cartesis. "To continue our organic and external growth, we need to have the right people in place. Eduardo has been very successful in similar roles and we are confident that together we will establish Cartesis as the leading global provider of performance management software."

"Joining Cartesis at this point in the company's lifecycle is tremendously exciting," said Eduardo Sergio Sanchez. "Organizations are constantly faced with significant challenges related to financial reporting, corporate governance and performance management and I believe that Cartesis is the best suited company to help address these issues."

Prior to joining Cartesis, Sanchez served as corporate vice president, Worldwide Sales and Services at MicroStrategy Inc. where, since 1993, he played a major role in growing the company into one of the prominent players in the business intelligence market and one of the most profitable software companies in the world.

Sanchez's past positions include working as an electrical engineering and operations research consultant in his native Argentina and the United States, serving clients throughout Europe and Japan. He holds an MS degree in Systems Engineering from George Mason University in addition to a BS degree from the University of La Plata.
