An increase in bring your own device (BYOD) adoption is expected to fuel growth in the global workspace aggregator market through 2020, according to Technavio Research.

The market will increase at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 12% between 2016 and 2020, the report says. The increase in the number of mobile devices, increased Internet use on mobile devices, growing popularity of BYOD and enterprise mobility are the major factors that contribute to the growth of the market.

Workspace aggregators help organizations implement BYOD policies by handling all applications and files centrally in a secure way. The Americas is the largest region in the market, accounting for more than 43% of the overall market share by 2020.

Much of the region’s growth comes from the quick adoption of advanced information technologies such as enterprise mobility, identity access management, virtualization, collaboration and cloud-based services by businesses and government organizations.

“Of late, the employees demand flexible and dynamic workspaces that offer the liberty to work from any location at any time with any device,” said Amrita Choudhury, Lead Analyst, ICT, at Technavio Research. “This has propelled organizations to modernize the workplaces to increase productivity.”

Companies are replacing traditional desktops with modern workspaces that provide flexibility, Choudhury says. Workspace aggregators help modernize the IT virtual infrastructure so that users can have a seamless experience with technology, he said.
