NCR Corp. is reporting a strong financial quarter due in large part to a spike in its data warehousing business.

For the first quarter ended, March 31, 2001, NCR posted data warehousing revenues of $236 million, which is up 21 percent from $195 million from the same quarter one year ago. New business at Teradata, NCR’s data warehousing unit, is up 20 percent over last year. New customers include: Sabre, The British Ministry of Defense, Publix, Aeromexico, Southwest Airlines, London Electricity, Sainsbury, Valora, Sonera, TVSE, Meredith Publishing and Be Free.com. Overall, NCR reported total revenues of $1.38 billion on net income of $117 million.
