Business Objects, the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, announced it has joined IBM's ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with technical and marketing support to help meet the specific information technology (IT) needs of small and medium business (SMB) companies. Business Objects provides business intelligence solutions that help businesses better leverage the information that is stored in an array of corporate databases, enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), and supply chain management systems. BusinessObjects(TM) Enterprise 6, the industry's leading business intelligence suite from Business Objects, enables organizations to track, understand, and manage enterprise performance. With Business Objects, companies have the ability to access and create reports, analyze information, and drill down on the data to identify opportunities to strengthen profitable customer relationships, differentiate products and services, and improve operational and supply chain efficiencies.

Small and medium businesses in automotive, chemical, consumer packaged goods, manufacturing, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, retail and other industrial sub-sectors can utilize Business Objects to access information on demand to improve enterprise performance. Enabling BusinessObjects Enterprise 6 with IBM DB2 Universal Database on Linux and WebSphere Internet infrastructure software will help Business Objects expand further into the SMB market, faster and more effectively than is possible with proprietary platforms. As part of the program, Business Objects will also work closely with IBM to expand its visibility in target vertical industries through various co-marketing and sales activities.
