Business Objects, a provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, announced the Business Objects Open Financial Applications Initiative. The Business Objects Open Financial Applications Initiative encompasses technology integration and marketing activities with each of the program participants. The initial members of the programinclude industry leading enterprise application vendors, PeopleSoft, Hyperion and best-of-breed financial and performance management application providers including ALG Software, Cartesis, Closedloop Solutions, Comshare, Longview Solutions, OutlookSoft, and SRC Software.

Business Objects recognizes that many companies have existing or planned investments with the leading vendors in the financial applications and performance management market. As such, this program will help ensure that customers can utilize a best-of-breed approach – leveraging existing investments in financial and enterprise applications, while setting a strategic plan to improve and optimize performance across every department in the organization. This approach to EPM enables organizations to drive performance management initiatives with maximum flexibility to achieve a rapid return on their investments.
