Business Objects, a leading provider of business intelligence solutions, and Kalido, a leading data warehouse life cycle management (DWLM) software provider, have announced a technology alliance to deliver an adaptive performance management solution. As part of this agreement, the two companies will work together to develop seamless integration between the KALIDO DWLM Suite from Kalido and BusinessObjects Enterprise 6, the industry-leading business intelligence suite from Business Objects. The two companies will also co-sell and co-market solutions in the United States and Europe, focusing on the financial services, energy and retail/consumer packaged goods (CPG) industries.
In a world where requirements for compliance and transparency have grown ever more stringent, senior decision-makers face challenges in gaining consistent, reliable, up-to-date enterprise-wide performance information. Often, the data is drawn from across different systems, time periods, product lines, and customer sets. Moreover, business changes often result in time-consuming and expensive IT rework to update information systems.
The combination of BusinessObjects Enterprise 6 and the KALIDO DWLM Suite can help solve this information disconnect problem. The KALIDO DWLM Suite ensures that the enterprise performance data, whatever its source, remains consistent and accurate throughout change and can be fed seamlessly into whatever Business Objects dashboards and reports the decision-maker wants to use. The combination of 'corporate memory' from the KALIDO software and analysis from BusinessObjects Enterprise 6 provides both an accurate and date-stamped audit trail of past performance changes and a detailed view of current performance across the entire enterprise.
The first stage of the technology integration will provide dynamic updating of Business Objects reporting tools through the ability to exchange meta data between the KALIDO DWLM Suite and BusinessObjects Enterprise 6. The companies have also identified additional technology initiatives that will further tighten this integration in the future.
