Business software provider BMC Software says it plans to support Cisco Systems’ new Cisco Network Services Manager across BMC’s cloud management product line, including BMC Network Automation and BMC Cloud Lifecycle Management.

The move is part of a broad strategic alliance between the two companies, who have more than 25 joint cloud services customers.

BMC says integration with Cisco Network Services Manager, which Cisco introduced this week, will provide simplicity for the companies’ joint customers and extend support for heterogeneity in cloud environments.

“Cisco’s strategic alliance with BMC brings our customers powerful validated and pre-tested cloud solutions,” said Nick Adamo, senior vice president of Cisco’s global service provider business, in a statement.

BMC has had a history of early integration with Cisco products, including embedded support for the Cisco Unified Computing System platform. By continued integration with Cisco Network Services Manager, BMC says it will further extend customers’ ability to create different levels of services capability, or “service tiers,” to meet application and deployment requirements.

Since announcing their strategic alliance a year ago, BMC and Cisco have implemented cloud services for service providers and large-scale cloud computing infrastructures.
