Celequest, the provider of operational performance management solutions, announced that BEA Systems has integrated key elements of Celequest's operational performance management software into AquaLogic High-Performance (HiPer) Workspace for Retail, a closed-loop notification and task management product for improving store operations. Celequest technology may also be included in future AquaLogic vertical composite applications.

The Celequest technology is intended to help companies using AquaLogic HiPer Workspace for Retail to monitor multiple back-end systems for important business activities such as measuring inventory levels, facilitating sales processes and improving customer satisfaction. Celequest's Business Rules Processor and Alert/Action Processor are embedded in the AquaLogic HiPer Workspace for Retail product to enable event-driven notification of these critical business activities within back-end store operations systems. By receiving event-driven notifications, store managers can be alerted to business changes in real-time, helping them to proactively make decisions rather than wait for outdated weekly or quarterly reports.

Celequest's Business Rules Processor is intended to help users define and activate rules that are stored in memory and matched against incoming event streams in real time. Celequest's advanced analytics capabilities are designed to enable these event streams to be aggregated and used in determining when critical trends develop or when operating thresholds are crossed. A unique attribute of Celequest's rule processor is that it is "temporally aware" and can associate time with events, allowing the AquaLogic HiPer Workspace for Retail to differentiate between temporary "spike" conditions and real trends that require alerts. When a threshold is crossed and an alert state has been reached, Celequest's Alert/Action Processor helps enable the AquaLogic HiPer Workspace for Retail system to send out an alert to the appropriate decision-makers.
