October 27, 2008 - Informatica launched a new Web site, as a place for IT professionals to learn about data quality issues and swap their “bad data” horror stories. Readers are encouraged to submit their experiences. Each month the writer of the best story, as voted by Informatica, will receive a Nintendo Wii.

On the site, an online book looks at the often significant “ouch factors” of acting on bad data. Ever heard of the man who dragged a deer carcass into his Connecticut bank to protest a faulty data problem? We hadn’t either. In addition, a series of videos highlights the potential pitfalls of misplaced data trust.
