Babboo Software, data cloning specialist, announced this week that the European Information Society Technologies (IST) presented Babboo with an award in recognition of its pioneering work in database cloning and the cost benefits that business can derive from that.

Babboo's flagship product, XClone, delivers major savings within IT departments because it reduces the time it takes technical staff to deliver clones. As well as significant cost savings, XClone helps IT teams improved project efficiency. By automating every step of the cloning process, XClone leaves database administrators free to undertake other key work.

"The fact that we have been chosen from over 400 international entrants for this year's prize is a huge endorsement of our technology, and we hope that it helps us get the message out to global organizations about the tremendous impact this solution can have on their performance," said Steven Marsh, Babboo founder.

The European IST provides recognition to teams that excel in generating and converting both R&D and novel ideas into marketable products. The competition is open to any organization that is active in any field of information technology within 33 countries. Selection criteria for the prize include technical excellence, innovative content, potential market impact, capacity to generate employment, contribution to the acceptance and understanding of IST in society, and likely social impact.
