Digital Authentication Technologies, a location identity software provider, is integrating its Contextual Location Fingerprint technology with a broader set of security products encompassed by the McAfee Security Innovation Alliance partner program.
Digital Authentication's technology uses electronic sensors to gather contextual information about a location; for instance an area within a data center or a room within an office building. This contextual information is used to establish a digital fingerprint for that location, which can then be used to verify future transactions made from that location.
This software will now work with McAfee's ePolicy Orchestrator security management software, which centralizes the management of security and compliance products provided by multiple vendors. It will also work with other Alliance products.
The integration aims to assure that information can be protected, controlled, and monitored by location in the cloud or on a user's device.
"Our company grew out of an awareness that location anonymity was a giant hole in IT and process control systems," stated Rick Morgenstern, co-founder and CEO of DAT in a company release. "Since CLF technology is not a standalone solution, we partner with vendors whose platforms enable scaling for enterprises in every vertical and of every size."
CLF technology can be used to assure that servers are in secure data centers, administrators are in secure network operation centers, and mobile device users can access data and applications from trusted locations. The platform helps reduce the risks that arise when the location of a machine cannot be established by other approaches.
