Attunity, Ltd., a leading provider of enterprise-class software for application and data integration, has introduced the CDC Accelerator for SQL Server 2005 Integration Services (SSIS). Customers can now create efficient and real-time ETL (extract, transform and load) solutions automatically and rapidly, leveraging SSIS ETL capabilities and Attunity Stream's CDC technology.
Part of the Attunity Integration Suite (AIS), and specifically the Attunity Stream product line, Attunity's SSIS CDC Accelerator provides a complete changed data capture (CDC) solution for SSIS, leveraging streaming change data from the many data sources available through AIS, including Oracle and DB2. Using fully integrated wizards, the product automatically generates all of the configurations and packages required to capture and process only the changes made to source data systems. The result is near real-time data transfers, smaller data transfer volumes and more efficient use of ever decreasing batch time windows.
Included with SQL Server 2005 at no extra cost, SSIS offers a comprehensive, powerful, and competitive solution for data integration and ETL. The successor to Data Transformation Services (DTS), SSIS is a platform for a new generation of high performance data integration technologies.
"The SSIS CDC Accelerator from Attunity is a good example of partners building products that extend the SSIS Data Integration platform," said Donald Farmer, group product manager, Microsoft Corporation. "Customers will appreciate the increased efficiency and real-time capabilities that CDC enables. The product is really easy to use and we are impressed by its functionality and its seamless integration with SSIS."
The SSIS CDC Accelerator leverages the proven Attunity Stream CDC product line, and includes integration and management components that provide an end-to-end solution with SSIS. Attunity Stream CDC captures only the changes made to enterprise data sources with minimal impact to the source system. Customers using Attunity Stream can source operational data efficiently and in real-time and support real-time data warehouses and data marts. In addition, users can reduce or totally eliminate batch windows required to move data. Data sources are kept in sync and event-driven and stream-based processing is enabled.
Husky Injection Molding Systems, an existing Attunity customer, tested the SSIS CDC Accelerator in beta to prepare for a planned integration initiative with its human resource systems. "The results were very promising and Husky plans to leverage Attunity's SSIS CDC accelerator when we move forward with our integration project," said Jim Wilson, vice president of Information Technology at Husky.
"We are excited to have been chosen by Microsoft as its go to vendor with regard to CDC," said Andy Bailey, vice president of worldwide marketing, Attunity. "As the number of SQL Server 2005 users continues to grow, customers will find additional benefits from the ability to rapidly create ETL solutions by leveraging SSIS and our CDC Accelerator."
