Ever since acquiring Torrent Systems last fall, Ascential Software has made no bones about making other corporate purchases to grow its data integration business. And now the company is following through. On March 12, Ascential Software announced that it was acquiring privately held Vality Technology Inc. for $92 million. The transaction is expected to close in April. Vality had 2001 revenues of $21.2 million and a customer base of 500 clients.
