Q: Are there any tradeoffs between stability versus flexibility during data warehouse design? Is there any documentation that shows this?
Clay Rehm's Answer:
I am not sure there really is a concept as stability. Every time you design, you hope for stability but really in the back of your mind, you know your design will change sometime in the future due to changing business requirements.
In this case, I feel flexibility is more important. This means you must design with the notion that it will change, so how easy can you change it in the future?
