Westboro, Mass., Oct. 18, 1999 - Ardent Software, Inc. announced record financial results for its third quarter ended September 30, 1999. Total revenues for the third quarter increased 53 percent to $45.3 million from $29.7 million in the same quarter of 1998. Data warehouse revenues increased 309 percent to $19.2 million in the third quarter of 1999 as compared to $4.7 million in the third quarter of 1998. Pro forma diluted earnings per share, excluding amortization of purchased intangibles, increased 64 percent to $0.36 in the quarter, as compared to $0.22 in the third quarter of 1998. Pro forma operating income increased 91 percent to $10.8 million in the quarter, representing an operating margin of 24 percent, as compared to pro forma operating income of $5.7 million and a 19 percent operating margin in the third quarter of 1998.
