The global business application testing services market was valued at more than $25 billion in 2016 and is expected to reach almost $52 billion by 2021, according to a report from research firm Technavio.

In terms of geographical analysis, North America dominated the global market in 2016, accounting for 35% of the overall market share. The U.S. is the key revenue contributing country in the business application testing services market in North America, the report said.

“Automated testing services are gaining traction in the global market, owing to their ability to improve the accuracy of testing, and enable suppliers to conduct a wider variety of tests,” said Angad Singh, a procurement specialist at Technavio.

“The demand for high accuracy is driving suppliers to move toward automated testing,” Singh said. “It is estimated that around 60 percent of the testing solutions will be automated to gain a competitive advantage.”

Organizations are increasingly shifting toward the digitization of operations across operational, financial, marketing, and human resource activities, Technavio said.

Enterprise applications such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer resource management (CRM), and business process management (BPM), which are widely used by organizations, need to be tested before deployment to make sure they’re free of defects and to ensure their ability to meet the requirements for which they are being deployed.
