San Diego-based Anvita Health, formerly known as SafeMed Inc., introduced software to enable the viewing of Google Health personal health records on cell phones that use the Android operating system.

The Anvita Mobile Viewer now is available only for use with the G1 cell phones, which include a display and keyboard, of T-Mobile USA. The viewer will be available in the future for other devices, including the iPhone, according to the vendor.

Anvita is best known for its analysis engine, which Google Health uses to aggregate data. The engine, for instance, can combine reference content from multiple sources with patient-specific data from electronic health records, insurer information systems and PHRs to provide real-time decision support to clinicians and patients. A prescription, for instance, can be checked for appropriateness against a patient's weight, sex, age, allergies and interactions with other drugs a patient is taking.
