PeopleSoft Inc. is acquiring Annuncio Software Inc., a developer of marketing automation applications for e-mail and Web customer interaction. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

By combining product suites, PeopleSoft says users will be able to automate and personalize online customer business interactions within a single, integrated, customer relationship management application. The functionality is designed to give companies the ability to execute marketing campaigns using online dialog and Web sites to maintain real-time personalized conversations with customers.

Annuncio's dialog marketing capability automatically coordinates personalized interactions with customers through e-mail, Web links, banner ads and direct mail. It also supports personalized landing pages, Web-site surveys and targeted follow-up offers.
