When it comes to frame relay, size matters. A new survey of more than 127,000 North American business sites by Harte-Hanks Inc. reveals that 31 percent of companies with more than 1,000 employees now use frame relay services for high-speed data transmission between computer networks.

Supporting industry analyst predictions of a rapid worldwide expansion of frame relay use, the research also shows that 26 percent of North American companies with 500-999 employees now use frame relay services. Smaller businesses are less likely to adopt frame relay, with installations reported at only 13 percent of companies with 100 to 499 employees and 10 percent of companies with less than 100 employees.
