Customer relationship management is moving from concept to reality, but the process is far from mature, says a recent CRM study from The Data Warehousing Institute. The institute polled 1,516 people on their CRM plans and almost 75 percent stated that they have yet to deploy a CRM solution. A total of 52 percent noted they are in the planning stage or initial rollout. About 25 percent of the companies responding have deployed a CRM solution to one extent or the other. "These ‘early adopter companies’ are mainly large ($10 + billion) firms in competitive industries such as financial services, software or telecommunications," the report says.
