April 20, 2011 – After two years of testing, the American Medical Association has launched its health information technology platform, called AMAGINE.

It offers more than 20 applications, along with business intelligence resources, communications tools and consulting services. Subscriptions start at $20 per physician per month for electronic prescription software, with an electronic health records system costing $300 per physician per month.

Vendors offering products through the platform, including three EHRs, include Dr. First, Allscripts, DocSite, WellCentive, Ingenix CareTracker, Quest Care360 and NextGen.
