September 1, 2010 – Alterian, a multi-channel marketing analysis firm, moved to increase its data monitoring business today with the acquisition of social media consulting company Intrepid.

With the purchase of Intrepid, the Chicago-based Alterian can now broaden its commitment to real-time, first-hand intelligence about brands across the social media landscape into a packaged social media solution, according to a Alterian news release. Intrepid has offices in Seattle, London and Ho Chi Minh City and focuses heavily on insights to customers through social media data.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

David Eldridge, Alterian CEO, stated on the Alterian Website that with the transaction, Intrepid brings to his company and its customers access to a talented analytics group with a “deep track record.”
