Naples, Fla., Dec. 3, 1999 - Allen Systems Group, Inc. (ASG) announced that the privately held software provider has received clearance from the U.S. Department of Justice to acquire specific Platinum mainframe systems management software products and related assets from Computer Associates (CA). To comply with U.S. anti-trust regulations, CA was forced to divest specific products that it acquired when CA purchased Platinum Technology International. These products include products formerly known as AutoSys/Zeke for VSE and MVS (including AutoSys/GWS), AutoRerun, AutoMedia and CCC/Life Cycle Manager. ASG estimates these products may bring in nearly $35 million in revenue in 2000.
"With the addition of Platinum's scheduling and intelligent management software, we've captured the heart of the enterprise. ASG will continue to develop these products with the utmost consideration of our customers' needs. We bring a 96 percent customer satisfaction rating to these products and a comprehensive solution to mainframe environments," said Art Allen, president and CEO of ASG.
