Actuate Corporation announced Actuate 7, an information application platform that allows Global 9000 organizations to cost-effectively build and centrally manage multiple mission-critical applications such as business performance management (BPM) dashboards, information portals, business analytic applications and interactive reporting applications. This unique platform provides user interfaces, which are appropriate for the majority of the enterprise and extended enterprise user communities without sacrificing IT infrastructure control.
Global IT organizations are struggling with the need to provide broad access to enterprise information ? both inside and outside the firewall. Employees, customers and business partners want immediate access to information generated from multiple data sources, but IT departments also need to retain control over data integrity, security and system performance. In addition, current IT spending restrictions demand that solutions demonstrate a low total cost of ownership and integrate into and leverage any existing IT environment. The subsequent releases of Actuate 7 will add tools for the power user community, leverage a service oriented architecture (SOA) to shorten development time, improve scalability, and further drive down TCO.
