As Vice President of Conference Services for DAMA International, my primary goal is to continue to increase the size and scope of DAMA International Conferences so they become premier educational events for data management professionals worldwide.

The 15th Annual DAMA International Symposium and 7th Annual Wilshire Meta-Data Conference will be held April 27 to May 1, 2003, in Orlando, Florida. The program for this year's event is the largest in the history of DAMA International and Wilshire Conferences. The agenda has been expanded to seven full conference tracks, including a new track on database administration, eight pre-conference workshops, 10 full-day tutorials, after-hour night school sessions and panels, special interest groups and user group meetings. The program has sessions for anyone in data management from novices to senior managers.

Some of the topics this year are marketing and selling data management, return on investment for meta data, data integration, data quality, data architecture, data stewardship, XML, meta data management, business rules, data standards, data warehousing, taxonomies, CRM, Web services, agile methodology, content management, business intelligence, business rules, enterprise architecture, new methodologies and technologies, and numerous presentations on data and process modeling. This year we also have a record number of success stories from practitioners at large corporations.

Keynote presenters include John Ladley, Warren Selkow, and the 2003 DAMA International Professional Recognition Award Winner, Graeme Simsion. Pre-conference workshop presenters are Scott Ambler, Marcie Barkin Goodwin, Graeme Simsion, Barbara von Halle, Stan Slossberg, David Plotkin, Michael Scofield and Fabian Pascal. Michael Brackett, Larry English, Bill Smith, Craig Mullins, John Zachman, Todd Stephens, David Marco, Claudia Imhoff, David McComb and James Bean will present full-day tutorials.

There is an early-bird discount of $100 if registration is paid by March 14, 2003, and additional group discounts are available. If your 2003 budget will permit you to attend only one conference, this is definitely the one you don't want to miss!
