As Vice President of Conference Services for DAMA International, my primary objective is to increase the size and scope of the annual DAMA International Symposium so that it becomes the world's premier conference in information management.

Over the past three years, attendance at the event has nearly tripled with more than 1,000 attendees in 2001 from 24 countries. The 14th Annual DAMA International Symposium and 6th Annual Wilshire Meta Data Conference will be held April 28 to May 2, 2002, in San Antonio, Texas. This year, the expanded program includes more than 100 speakers, six preconference workshops, eight full-day tutorials, six conference tracks, after-hours night school sessions and panels, user group sessions, and early morning special interest groups.

The conference features presentations on data integration, data quality, data architecture, data stewardship, XML, meta data management, business rules, data standards, data warehousing, CRM, business intelligence, business rules, enterprise architecture, new methodologies and technologies, and numerous presentations on data modeling. This year, there are also a record number of success stories from practitioners at Fannie Mae, Allstate Insurance, Delta Airlines, Johnson and Johnson, Agilent Technologies, Intel, Aera Energy, Rohm and Haas Company, Wells Fargo, CNA Insurance, Pepsi, Prudential Financial, MetLife, Hallmark Cards and more.

Keynote presenters include Ed Yourdon, Peter Aiken and Bill Inmon. Preconference workshops will be conducted by John Zachman, Alec Sharp, Len Silverston, Bob Seiner, Michael Scofield and Sridhar Iygengar. Full- day tutorials will be presented by Graeme Simsion and Graham Witt, Michael Brackett, Larry English, Ron Ross and Gladys Lam, Adrienne Tannenbaum, David Marco, Claudia Imhoff and David Plotkin.

DAMA members are eligible for a $250 discount on the full event. There is an additional early-bird discount of $100 if paid by March 15, 2002, and a team bonus for four or more registrants from the same organization. This is a conference you don't want to miss!
