Jeff has extensive hands-on experience representing clients in complex civil litigation and government investigations. In addition to maintaining a business litigation practice, he defends individuals and companies facing white collar criminal charges, quasi-criminal civil fraud claims and compliance violations. He leads internal investigations, addresses compliance issues and provides crisis management services. Jeff also has significant experience in counseling companies on data security and privacy compliance and in responding to data breaches, including conducting internal investigations to determine scope and causation, providing required notice to affected individuals and law enforcement agencies, and responding to state and federal regulatory enforcement inquiries and actions.

Jeff joined Bass, Berry & Sims after practicing for seven years at the boutique litigation firm Neal & Harwell, PLC. Before that, Jeff served as a law clerk to Judge Susan H. Black on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. During law school, he spent a semester working for the Office of the Attorney General of Guyana in South America.

Jeff received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University and a law degree from University of Georgia School of Law.
