Date Held: December 13, 2012

In order to optimize the value of your company’s information you’ll need to formalize the access, usage, and protection of your data. The days of corporate data being created by a static set of in-house applications are over as companies move toward external applications and information providers to support their growing business demands. This shift is challenging the traditional paradigm of information management (data governance, data management, and information delivery). It’s critical that the system we use to manage our data not only tracks where data is created and consumed, but also how it moves and migrates.

During this session, Evan Levy of SAS will introduce the concept of the Data Supply Chain and discuss with Jim Ericson from Information Management. Where traditional supply chain management automated the flow of materials across numerous suppliers through timely and accurate data, the Data Supply Chain can streamline your company’s ability to track and manage data across the various sources, applications, and end users.
