Date Held: September 29, 2010

In this fast-paced web seminar, Aaron Zornes will provide answers and insights into trends via market-driven data from his research firm’s latest MDM MarketPulse™ research. The goal of this webcast is to provide IT and business management with guidance regarding:

  • Why DG is essential as a phase zero deliverable?
  • How can you evaluate the currently marketed DG capabilities of mega vendors, specialist vendors and systems integrators/consultancies?
  • What are the key capabilities to demand of your DG supplier in the next 12-18 months?
  • What are the key future business and technology trends that will impact this critical market?

Data governance (DG) is vital to the success of master data management (MDM) projects – both initially and ongoing. Based on surveys of 1,800+ MDM programs at Global 5000 enterprises, The MDM Institute recently issued these predictions:

  • During 2010-11, Global 5000 enterprises will increasingly mandate that no MDM program be funded without the pre-requisite DG framework as a core phase zero or phase one deliverable of most large-scale MDM projects
  • Concurrently, the MDM vendor community will increasingly compete with their former systems integrator and consultancy partners to systemize DG frameworks
  • Through 2011-12, Global 5000 size enterprises will struggle to evolve DG both in cost-effective and practical ways that shift from passive to active DG modes
  • DG assistance from SIs will remain especially vital to the success of MDM programs during 2010-11 as organizations deal with a shortage of MDM experience, tools and tool expertise

Go Governance, Go Early is the rallying cry of savvy enterprise and solution architects who are tasked with setting the scope and direction of their enterprise’s data integration programs.
