Weekend at Bernie´s
Two corporate worker bees are trying to make their way up the ladder at a New York-based insurance company when they find evidence of a $2 million fraud. When they report the fraud to their boss, Bernie Lomax, they don´t realize Bernie is the one using this technique (on behalf of the mafia) to steal from the company. Bernie "rewards" the find by inviting the two employees to a weekend at his beach house where he plans on having them killed by his mafia partner. When the two arrive for a weekend of beach, booze and babes, they find Bernie murdered.
But with good data management ... If there was a simple business rule that stated if a policy is issued after the date on the death certificate, no payment is made. And Larry and Richard would still be crunching numbers in a kiddie pool on the roof of their apartment building and not lugging around a deceased guy in a windbreaker for an entire weekend.
