February 9, 2011 – Labor management software vendor Kronos Inc., which serves multiple industries including health care, will acquire API Healthcare Corp., which sells complementary software solely in health care, for an undisclosed sum.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Chelmsford, Mass.-based Kronos is buying API from private equity firm Francisco Partners, which acquired the vendor in late 2008.

Hartford, Wis.-based API sells time and attendance, staffing and scheduling, patient classification, payroll, human resources, and business applications. The company also sells a recruiting and hiring application.

The acquisition will significantly increase Kronos' health care presence as API serves more than 1,000 provider organizations and staffing agencies. Kronos customers will have access to API's patient classification software while API clients will have access to Kronos' health care data analysis application.
