September 29, 2009 – iDashboards released a new software-as-a-service application housed on the Amazon Elastic Cloud, iDashboards In Cloud.

iDashboards In Cloud users can identify trends and drill down into data through its real-time analytics capability, according to a company release. The new application uploads Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to create its customizable Web-based dashboards.

Shadan Malik, president and CEO, iDashboards emphasized that Excel is one of the most prevalent data sources in the industry and that appealing to its users will allow them to view data in a much more user-friendly way.

"There are a large number of business users using Excel as their data source. They are overwhelmed with spreadsheets and need a user-friendly, cost-effective solution that provides them with better insight into their data," he said. Malik believes this new solution will allow business users to manage and make sense of data-overloaded spreadsheets through the use of business intelligence dashboards.

The motivation behind iDashboards new release is to bring BI to the masses by making it appealing a larger population of organizations of varied size, said Malik.  “This is really about making BI more affordable to smaller organizations and getting this thing in their hands to see the power of a dashboard,” Malik said.
