Melissa Data Debuts New Search Technology

Guided Information Access platform designed for access and analysis of legacy data

Information Management Online, September 16, 2009

Adrienne Baker

September 15, 2009 – Melissa Data, in partnership with SpeedTrack Inc., released SpeedTrack, a new search technology designed to enhance data storage, access and analysis by capturing the associations between data.

SpeedTrack is a Guided Information Access (GIA) platform for access and analysis of legacy data. It allows users to perform searches across different databases, using GIA to create a list of categories, identifying and storing all associative values and interrelationships within the data, according to Melissa Data.

SpeedTrack’s applications are compatible with all versions of stored data including relational databases, text, email, PDF, Microsoft Office documents and legacy databases, according to a company release.

By selecting unique words, characters and values, users can mine and manage legacy data by performing standardized and ad hoc queries, as well as view, navigate and perform comparative analytics on all information, according to a Melissa Data statement.
