Panda Security announced the launch of its 2013 consumer product lineup, which includes Panda Antivirus Pro 2013, Panda Internet Security 2013 and Panda Global Protection 2013. The cloud-based offerings, designed to provide protection with minimum impact on PC performance, are now available for purchase.

Each of the products provides real-time protection against known and unknown threats by leveraging the knowledge and experience of millions of users through Panda's cloud-based Collective Intelligence technology.

The new offerings feature what Panda says is a more modern, intuitive interface than before, and are compatible with Windows 8, Microsoft's new operating system. They also include a series of technological improvements, including better disinfection capabilities, improved on-access scanning, a new operation system vulnerability disinfection system, a new built-in system to submit questions to technical support and a new password manager that protects users' digital identity and allows them to store their credentials securely.

Panda Global Protection 2013 is specifically designed for highly active users with the most demanding protection needs, the company says. Its Panda Safe Browser module is aimed at users who want to preserve their privacy and security while using social networking sites and other Internet services.

In addition, it can encrypt and password-protect private files and folders to prevent the theft of personal data or multimedia content.

The 2013 product line builds on Panda’s core functionality, including an antivirus engine to protect against known and unknown malware; a firewall with Wi-Fi security to block intruders and hackers; Panda USB Vaccine to prevent USB devices from spreading infections; confidential information filters to keep personal data safe; backup and system recovery; and PC performance tuning.
