Rothman Healthcare Research will build its Patient Condition Tracker software on the Helios open architecture platform of Eclipsys Corp., Atlanta. The project will provide tight integration with Eclipsys' Sunrise Enterprise software suite, according to the vendors.

Santa Barbara, Calif.-based Rothman's tracking software uses electronic health records data to highlight subtle declines in patients' conditions and alert physicians. Patient records are color-coded for nurses to easily understand and track present conditions. The tracking software also generates and displays a health score, based on vital signs, nurse assessments and lab results. Medical personnel also can view multiple patient graphs simultaneously.
