New Virtual Directory Server Context Edition Released

November 20, 2009 – Radiant Logic has announced the release of the RadiantOne Virtual Directory Server (VDS) Context Edition 5.2.

VDS Context Edition is designed to integrate high-volume, heterogeneous identity environments, with multiple user populations (customers, partners, employees) and disparate data sources (directories, databases, Web services). The new Global Identifier & Profile Builder creates a unified list of all identities and their profiles drawn from various applications, databases, and directories without having to centralize security.

“Protecting identities, information and infrastructure happens on two fronts:” said Sam Curry, vice president, product management at RSA, The Security Division of EMC in the release. “Mitigating insider risk by controlling exactly who has access to a well-defined set of resources, while concurrently focusing outside of the perimeter to prevent evolving threats like online fraud.” Curry predicts customers with VDS will benefit from a streamlined approach to managing diverse user populations.

Other improvements include an advanced join engine and context builder as well as caching options and scalability.
