Denodo unveiled Denodo Platform 5.0, its data virtualization solution. Enhancements include improved connectivity to traditional, analytical and NoSQL data sources, a new caching system and unified data governance, which brings together top-down and bottom-up virtual models.
Embarcadero Technologies announced Embarcadero DB PowerStudio XE3.5, the latest version of its database management and development platform. A key component of Embarcadero’s metadata governance platform, the release encompasses DBArtisan, which maintains database uptime and availability; Rapid SQL, which provides multi-platform data access; DB Optimizer, which diagnoses and optimizes poorly-performance SQL; and DB Change Management, which assists with auditing and compliance reporting, data privacy protection, organizational risk mitigation and automated data schema synchronization.
EMC launched the Enterprise Edition of Syncplicity, its cloud-based file sharing solution. This update enables IT choice of storage, either in the cloud or using an on-premise storage infrastructure based on EMC Isilon scale-out NAS or EMC Atmos object-based cloud storage, and features a redesigned user interface.
HP launched HP MSR Open Architecture Platform with VMware vSphere Series, its virtualization platform that integrates third-party applications on HP MSR Series routers. Available for deployment on the HP MSR30 Series (with the VMware vSpher FIC Module) or the HP MSR50 Series (with the VMware vSphere MIM Module), the platform includes WAN routing, wireless LAN, 3G/4G, Ethernet switching and integrations with HP AllianceONE applications.
Kapow Software announced the availability of Kapow Enterprise 9.2, the latest version of its big data integration platform. The release can extract information for any data source, with business logic intact, and then automate a response with read/write functionality. New features also include enhanced Kapplets, Web apps shared via its enterprise app library, Kapow KappZone, as well as distributed runtime and database configurations, either on-premise or in the cloud.
Knoa Software announced the Knoa Experience and Performance Manager for salesforce.com. The solution generates end user experience metrics on infrastructure errors, transaction response times, transaction abandonment and navigation response times, alerting users of errors before they reach the customer.
OpenText unveiled two new releases in enterprise information management. OpenText InfoFusion, an information access platform, integrates applications for data integration, content migration, data archiving and legacy decommissioning. OpenText Archive, which archives enterprise information in a single, scalable repository, features single-instance archiving, data compression and supports multiple storage formats, including optical media, hard disk, magnetic tape and cloud storage.
Oracle announced three new updates to its product portfolio. Primavera P6 Analytics 3.1, a BI solution for project management, features advanced risk identification and mitigation, scheduling monitoring, trending analytics and UDF support. PeopleSoft 9.2, comprised of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management, PeopleSoft Financials and PeopleSoft Supply Chain Management, now features global, free text search across multiple objects and instances; integration of PeopleTools 8.53; and mobile capabilities for requisitioning for purchasing users. Oracle Learn Cloud 13A, the latest version of its learning management system, now features expanded options for time and date formats,increased language capabilities and a redesigned user interface.
SAP announced its SAP Fraud Management analytic application, designed to enable enterprises to detect, investigate, analyze and prevent irregularities or fraud in big data environments. Powered by its HANA platform, the application features close-loop fraud processing, real-time integration between fraud and claims processing, and alert notifications. Splunk unveiled Splunk DB Connect, enabling real-time integration between Splunk Enterprise and traditional relational databases. Features include database connection management, database indexing and support for databases such as Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase.
10gen released MongoDB 2.4, the latest edition of its agile and scalable document database. The solution enables real-time visibility into ranking attributes, such as leaderboards and most emailed items; provides horizontal scaling by sharding data across multiple physical servers; and can search for text in 15 languages.
