October 22, 2009 - Teradata Corporation has announced that Electronic Arts Inc., a global interactive entertainment software company, has selected and implemented Teradata Master Data Management (MDM) running on a Teradata platform as its enterprise master data management solution.

Dennis Self, CIO at Electronic Arts, explained that Teradata's MDM solution will help his business manage all types of master data on a unified platform. This supports the company's drive to enhance data accuracy and corporate performance.

Electronic Arts is among a growing number of companies investing in MDM initiatives due to their strategic nature and ability to enhance corporate performance. “Many companies still have numerous time consuming, error prone manual methods of creating and managing critical data that is used for business processes such as new product introduction, customer and supplier management as well as risk analysis,” said Mark Shainman, MDM program director for Teradata, in a statement.

The components of MDM, such as data quality,  integrated data, data governance, allow organizations to capitalize on their data assets and deliver trusted data throughout the enterprise.
