Information technology services and consulting firm Computer Sciences Corp. and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses have developed new software content to facilitate standardized nurse documentation.
The AORN Syntegrity Standardized Perioperative Framework includes standards of care and predefined tables and fields that can be integrated into nurse documentation systems and electronic health records.
Falls Church, Virginia-based CSC will provide marketing, sales, distribution and technology support services. The framework is the first of a series of services the Denver-based association will offer to improve patient outcomes and enhance operational performance.
The organizations expect to develop a national data repository to support analysis and benchmarking as use of the framework expands. More information is available at aornSyntegrity.org.
