Bupa Selects Kognitio

Kognitio today completed a large-scale, migration project for the UK Membership division of Bupa, the international health and care company.

In the culmination of what is believed to be the largest data migration project in the insurance industry, taking four years, Kognitio worked with Bupa to successfully migrate the company’s data from nine legacy applications to two target applications in a “big bang” migration over a single weekend.

The migration included information on almost 12.7 million members, nearly 100,000 companies and 21 million claims.  As a result of this migration project, Bupa now has a single administration system, SWIFT and the PeopleSoft financial accounting system across its UK Membership business.  This will enable Bupa to operate more efficiently, bring new products to market more quickly and offer improved levels of customer service.

Palm Beach County to Archive SharePoint Data Using Mimosa

Palm Beach County in the state of Florida will be expanding its use of Mimosa NearPoint beyond archiving its Microsoft Exchange Server data to provide comprehensive content archiving, data protection and eDiscovery support for its Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 environment.

Ranked one of the top ten fastest growing counties in the nation, Palm Beach County originally selected Mimosa NearPoint following a pilot deployment of its archiving solution for email archiving. Since its initial deployment of NearPoint in 2007 for email archiving, the growing county has since chosen to expand its use of Mimosa NearPoint to archive and protect its rapidly growing SharePoint infrastructure.

“We have been exceptionally pleased with NearPoint’s ability to assure information retention, search and recovery for our critical Exchange information,” said Santhosh Samuel, server manager for Palm Beach County’s Information Support Services Department, “Now, as our SharePoint environment continues to grow, we saw a natural progression to extend our NearPoint solution to protect the volumes of data housed in our SharePoint system. NearPoint has proven that it can streamline all of our eDiscovery processes by easily producing public records required by the Florida Sunshine Law. It is a natural expansion of our solution to now deploy it to protect, retain and discover our SharePoint content.”
