Caritas Christi Health Care, Boston, will use two technologies from Microsoft to improve access to clinical information for clinicians and patients alike.

The delivery system, which operates six hospitals, will use Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft’s Amalga Unified Intelligence System to aggregate patient data and provide a single source of clinician access to information stored in multiple information systems.

Caritas Christi will use Microsoft’s HealthVault personal health record platform to enable patients to store and access health information generated at hospitals and physician group practices. This will include medical summary data, provider information, appointments and insurance/billing information. Patients then can share this information with physicians and others.

The provider also will implement Amalga UIS Quality Measures to help it comply with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ core quality measures.
