October 30, 2012 – Consultancy Deloitte has acquired clinical data warehouse builder Recombinant Data Corp. and renamed the business “Recombinant by Deloitte.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Newton, Mass.-based Recombinant formed in 2005 and builds data warehouses and reporting systems for the medical and life sciences fields. Ancillary systems include a registry certified under Stage 1 meaningful use as an EHR Module to calculate and submit clinical quality measures.

Among other uses, the warehouses support formation of value-based payment modules, and analysis of genomic and biological data to support personalized and evidence-based medicine, according to the companies.

Deloitte will offer the data warehouse services in combination with its consultancy services to aid health care organizations in moving to new care delivery models.
