On Monday, the company released Teradata and Kalido Accelerate for Agile Data Warehouse, a packaged offering for mid-market customers; Kalido Hierarchy and Rule Management, a data warehouse access and control solution; and Kalido Information Engine for data warehouse delivery on the Teradata platform. The private Massachusetts-based data governance provider also highlighted partnerships with Teradata and Claraview in the releases.
Kalido CEO and president Bill Hewitt says the Teradata and Kalido Accelerate for Agile Data Warehouse enables mid-sized companies to deploy a warehouse framework within 90 days, even starting with one small data project and building on that foundation over time.
“Companies continue to struggle with exploding mountains of data. Better ways to capture that, and faster and more agile ways of using it to run the business, is a requirement now, not just something that’s nice to have,” Hewitt says. “It’s about how you relate the data and deliver it to end users in a timely fashion.”
In concert with Teradata, Kalido’s Information Engine is meant to deliver fast data warehouses more rapidly. Mark Beyer, research vice president at Gartner, reviewed the combined data warehouse release and said in a statement Monday that the speed of the release aligns with the pace being set in the industry.
“Metadata driven tools for integration, models and even sourcing of the architecture are significant contributors to the highest levels of warehouse agility. Tools which can manage and deliver versions in all areas of the architecture raise the warehouse from being just a big IT project toward becoming a nimble, competitive differentiator,” Beyer stated.
Kalido’s third release announced Monday for Hierarchy and Rule Management is geared toward business users rather than just IT officers through more direct control and agile use. Business users can make and track rule changes via hierarchies that are not listed as code, which Hewitt says makes for better company decision-making.
