September 22, 2010 – Two hardware vendors have introduced new initiatives to secure protected health information.

Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Oracle Corp. has unveiled its Security Governor for Healthcare product. It offers retrospective and real-time privacy and security breach detection, rapid incident investigation tools with criteria-based automated reporting functions, automated privacy audits of various entities and applications, and customizable risk analysis and reporting.

Secaucus, N.J.-based Panasonic Solutions Company has licensed and will resell centralized mobile device security management software and self-encrypting disk drives from Mobile Armor Inc., St. Louis. The technologies are available with the Toughbook 31 clamshell computers, Toughbook 19 convertible tablets, and Toughbook H1 Health mobile clinical assistant devices.
