Mastek, a global IT solutions provider announced the acquisition of technology from Kognitio, a vendor that supplies data migration tools to the insurance market, for inclusion in Mastek’s Migration Centre of Excellence.

Kognitio’s Data Factory Tool Kit (DFTK) and data migration methodology includes support for all aspects of data processing in a data migration project.

As part of the technology acquisition, Philip Magnall, formerly the VP, Platform Rationalization at Kognitio, will join Mastek and will take on the role of data migration manager, responsible for Mastek’s migration projects and consultancy offerings.

The acquisition of technology and talent speaks to Mastek’s desire to move toward strengthening its position as an IP-led enterprise solutions provider. For Kognitio, the deal allows it to refocus its efforts on its data warehousing proposition and safeguard the future stability of the DFTK solution by incorporating it within a large and well-established organization like Mastek.
